What is Absa CashSend

You can purchase an Absa CashSend voucher from Quantum Wallet if you require a cash refund from your wallet. During this process, you will be sent a 10-digit Withdrawal Number from Absa, and a 6-digit Access Code from Quantum Wallet. To withdraw cash from any Absa ATM, you must provide both the 10-digit Withdrawal Number and the 6-digit Access Code together with the exact and full amount of the CashSend voucher.

 

NOTE:

  • The 10 digit Withdrawal Number will only be sent to your cellphone from Absa 24 hours after you have purchased the voucher from Quantum Wallet.
  • Absa CashSend vouchers can only be purchased in multiples of R50.

 

The value of the CashSend voucher, plus the costs and levies associated with the voucher, will be deducted from your Quantum Wallet.

 

 

How does it work?

How to purchase an Absa CashSend voucher from Quantum Wallet:

  • Log in to the Quantum Wallet vending interface and select the Absa CashSend option.
  • Next, select the Purchase option in the CashSend menu.
  • Specify the value of the Absa CashSend voucher (the cost of the voucher will be added to the specified value of the voucher as an additional levy). The value of the voucher MUST be a multiple of R50.00, e.g. R50, R100, R150, etc.
  • A 6-digit Access Code will immediately be provided to you by Quantum Wallet and also delivered to your cellphone via SMS.
  • A 10-digit Withdrawal Number will be sent to your cellphone via SMS from Absa bank 24 hours after purchasing the CashSend voucher.

How to withdraw cash using an Absa CashSend voucher after you have received the 10-digit Withdrawal Number:

  • Visit any Absa ATM and select CashSend followed by CashSend Withdrawal.
  • Enter the 10-digit Withdrawal Number sent to your cellphone from Absa.
  • Enter the 6-digit Access Code provided to you by Quantum Wallet.
  • Enter the exact amount for which the Absa CashSend voucher was purchased.
  • Once the transaction has been verified, the money will be issued to you.
  • Only the full amount can be withdrawn.

 

How much does it cost?

Quantum Wallet will add a levy to the specified value of the Absa CashSend voucher. The levy plus the value of the CashSend voucher will be deducted from your Quantum Wallet. The current cost of an Absa CashSend voucher purchased from Quantum Wallet is R9.30 plus 1.1% (VAT incl.) of the CashSend voucher value.

 

For example:

 

if you purchase a CashSend voucher for R100.00, the total amount debited to your Quantum Wallet will be R100.00 + R9.30 + R1.10 = R110.40. Note that VAT is only charged on the levy amount (R10.40 VAT incl. in this example).

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the recipient?

The recipient is the person who purchases the CashSend voucher to withdraw cash from an Absa ATM.

 

What is the 10-digit Withdrawal Number?

This is a number generated by the Absa CashSend system which is delivered to the recipient cellphone via SMS by the Absa CashSend system.

 

What is the 6-digit Access Code?

This is a number generated by the Quantum Wallet system and is delivered to the recipient of the CashSend voucher. The recipient requires the Withdrawal Number, the Access Code and the exact value of the CashSend voucher, to withdraw cash at an Absa ATM.

 

What if the recipient has not received the CashSend Withdrawal Number?

You will need to contact the Quantum Wallet helpdesk, and provide the recipient cellphone number for the CashSend transaction. A Quantum Wallet transaction ID and/or date and time of the transaction will assist with identifying the correct transaction. The Quantum Wallet helpdesk will then re-issue the CashSend Withdrawal Number, which will be delivered only to the original recipient cellphone.

 

How does the recipient receive the 6-digit Access Code?

The 6-digit Access Code is provided to the recipient at the end of the purchase of the CashSend voucher, and is also delivered to the recipient cellphone via SMS.

 

What if the recipient loses the Access Code?

The Access Code can be reprinted from a previous transaction by selecting the Reprint option in the Absa CashSend menu in the Quantum Wallet vending interface.

 

How long is the CashSend Withdrawal Number valid for?

The CashSend Withdrawal number must be used within 30 days from date of purchase, after which it will expire.

 

Can I get a refund for an unused CashSend voucher?

Please contact the Quantum Wallet helpdesk. The standard policy is that vouchers will not be refunded after they are sold.

 

 

Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions are to be read in conjunction with the general terms and conditions for usage of the Quantum Wallet system.

  1. Definitions
    1. "CashSend" means the CashSend banking product provided by Absa Bank Limited (registration number 1986/004794/06) for the purpose of withdrawing funds from an Absa ATM without a card.
    2. "Access Channel" means the Terminal which can be used to initiate a CashSend Transaction from the Quantum Wallet system.
    3. "Account" means the Quantum Wallet account held in the name of the Customer on the Quantum Wallet system, utilized by the Customer in order to effect the CashSend Transaction, and which is debited by the value of the CashSend Transaction.
    4. "ATM" means an Absa Automated Teller Machine.
    5. "Bank" means Absa Bank Limited (registration number 1986/004794/06).
    6. "Expertron" means Expertron Group (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2000/000/790/07), a private company registered in South Africa.
    7. "Quantum Wallet System" or "System" means the electronic voucher vending service operated by Quantum Wallet (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2011/149060/07).
    8. "CashSend Transaction" means an instruction to request a CashSend Withdrawal Number and Access Code from the Quantum Wallet system by means of the Access Channel, and to debit the Account by the value of the transaction.
    9. "Levy" means the transaction fees payable by the Customer to Quantum Wallet in respect of a CashSend Transaction.
    10. "Withdrawal Number" means a 10 (ten) digit numeric ( numbers) number generated by the Bank and sent by the Bank via SMS to the cellphone number of a Recipient provided by the Customer as part of the CashSend product in order to be utilized by the Recipient, together with the Access Code provided by the Customer to the Recipient, to withdraw funds from an Absa ATM.
    11. "Access Code" means a 6 (six) digit numeric number (Security Number), generated by the Quantum Wallet System and provided to the Customer, and used as a security and authentication measure during the CashSend Transaction, and which the Customer will provide to the Recipient, to utilize together with the Withdrawal Number to withdraw funds from an Absa ATM.
    12. "Customer" means the person who initiates the CashSend Transaction from the Quantum Wallet system, and who is registered on the Quantum Wallet system to buy and sell electronic vouchers.
    13. "PIN" means the personal identification number selected by the Customer in respect of the Account.
    14. "Recipient" means the third party beneficiary nominated by the Customer to receive the funds transferred by the Customer via the CashSend Transaction, who will be able to withdraw the funds via an Absa ATM without a card. If the Customer is restricted to execute CashSend Transactions for him/herself, then the Customer and the Recipient are the same person.
    15. "SMS" means a communications protocol allowing the interchange of short text messages between mobile telephone devices.
    16. "Transaction ID" means a number generated by the Quantum Wallet system in respect of a specific CashSend Transaction in order to be utilized by the Customer for enquiry and transactional purposes.
  2. Relationship between Expertron and the Bank
    1. Expertron makes no representation on behalf of the Bank, and does not act as an agent on behalf of the Bank.
  3. Use of CashSend subject to conditions
    1. The use of CashSend is provided subject to these terms and conditions.
    2. The use of CashSend is provided subject to terms and conditions imposed by the Bank.
    3. Quantum Wallet may vary these terms and conditions by giving reasonable notice of such amendments to the Customer, by posting a notification of amendment on the website.
  4. Operation of the account
    1. The Customer will, via the Access Channel, instruct Quantum Wallet to execute a CashSend Transaction.
    2. The Recipient will be required to enter the withdrawal amount, the Withdrawal Number and the Access Code, at an Absa ATM, subject to validation by the Bank.
    3. Upon completion of the CashSend Transaction instruction by the Customer, Quantum Wallet shall not be liable for any incorrect or unauthorised withdrawals by any party.
    4. The Withdrawal Number and Access Code for the CashSend Transaction is only valid for a period of 30 (thirty) days calculated from the date of the CashSend Transaction instruction.
    5. The CashSend transaction is only available within the borders of the Republic of South Africa.
  5. Duties of the Customer
    1. The Customer must only disclose the Access Code of the CashSend Transaction to the Recipient for the purposes of effecting a CashSend withdrawal.
    2. The Customer must take all reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorized use of and withdrawal of funds transferred via the CashSend Transaction.
    3. Quantum Wallet accepts no liability for any unauthorised or incorrect withdrawals in terms of CashSend.
    4. It is the responsibility of the Customer to provide the correct cellphone number of the Recipient and to provide the Access Code to the Recipient when instructing transfers in terms of a CashSend Transaction.
    5. The Customer must retain the Transaction ID provided by Quantum Wallet in respect of any CashSend Transaction for enquiry and transactional purposes.
  6. Unauthorised use of the PIN, Access Code and Withdrawal Number
    1. If any unauthorised person obtains the PIN, Access Code and Withdrawal Number in any manner whatsoever, such a person will be regarded as the Customer's duly authorised agent with full authority to use CashSend on the Customer's behalf, unless the Customer is able to prove that the person has obtained the PIN, Access Code or Withdrawal Number due to negligence by or internal fraud in Quantum Wallet.
  7. Liability for loss or damage
    1. The Customer acknowledges that the use of CashSend through the Access Channel is at the Customer's own risk.
    2. The Customer acknowledges that Quantum Wallet relies solely on the cellphone number of the Recipient provided by the Customer, when receiving any instructions from the Customer to execute a CashSend instruction. Quantum Wallet is not obliged to determine whether the cellphone number of the Recipient is correct or whether the Access Code and Withdrawal Number has been received by the intended Recipient to ensure that the Recipient withdraws and received the funds.
    3. Quantum Wallet will not be responsible for any damage, loss or consequential damage which the Customer may suffer as a result of:
      1. any malfunction or defect in any hardware or software or action/non-action by any Internet or service provider used by the Customer to access or in respect of the Access Channel;
      2. any system being off-line or unavailable in respect of the Access Channel;
      3. any other circumstances not reasonably within the control of Quantum Wallet;
      4. erroneous, unauthorized, incomplete, or unlawful instructions from the Customer or withdrawals by third parties;
      5. unlawful or unauthorised access by another person(s).
    4. The Customer indemnifies Quantum Wallet against any damage, loss and/or consequential damage that Quantum Wallet may suffer as a result of incorrect, wrong, unauthorised and/or wrongful instructions or information given by the Customer or any other person authorised or deemed to be authorised to act on behalf of the Customer, or of incorrect, wrong, unauthorised and/or wrongful withdrawals of funds by any party.
    5. The Customer hereby warrants to Quantum Wallet that the Customer has the required legal capacity to enter into and be bound by these terms and conditions.
  8. Fees
    1. Any fees and charges in respect of the CashSend Transaction will be debited to the Customer's Account.
    2. No additional fees, apart from the Levy, will be payable for the request of an Access Code and Withdrawal Number in respect of a CashSend Transaction.
    3. Quantum Wallet may vary the charges and fees in respect of the CashSend transaction by giving reasonable notice of such amendments to the Customer, by posting a notification of amendment on the website.
  9. Termination, suspension or withdrawal of the CashSend Transaction
    1. The Customer may request the termination or cancellation of a CashSend Transaction before the withdrawal by the Recipient. Once the Recipient has used the Access Code and Withdrawal Number to withdraw funds at an ATM, the CashSend Transaction cannot by terminated or cancelled.
    2. Quantum Wallet is under no obligation to terminate or cancel a CashSend Transaction.
    3. Quantum Wallet is entitled, at its discretion, to remove the CashSend Transaction service at any time Quantum Wallet deems it necessary.
    4. Quantum Wallet is entitled to immediately suspend or withdraw all or part the CashSend Transaction service if:
      1. CashSend is suspended or withdrawn by the Bank; or
      2. CashSend is being used contrary to the terms and conditions of this agreement; or
      3. Quantum Wallet has reasonable grounds to believe that CashSend may be used negligently, illegally or fraudulently; or
      4. Quantum Wallet believes that the security of the systems used to provide CashSend may be compromised.
    5. The Customer is liable for all transactions and/or obligations (and related charges) which are incurred up to and including the date of termination.
  10. Confidentiality of information and security
    1. Quantum Wallet cannot be held responsible for the confidentiality of information contained in documents that are sent to the selected fax number or e-mail address, or cellphone numbers, or for information or documents that do not reach the selected fax number or e-mail address or cellphone numbers.
    2. The Customer acknowledges that information transmitted through the Internet or any other communication system, including wireless communication system, and cellphones is susceptible to unlawful access, distortion and monitoring and that the Customer uses Quantum Wallet at its own risk.
  11. Cession and delegation
    1. The Customer may not cede or assign or otherwise make over or dispose of any of the Customer's rights or obligations in terms of these terms and conditions without prior written consent of Quantum Wallet.
  12. No Waiver
    1. If Quantum Wallet, for any reason or purpose, does not immediately enforce or implement any of Quantum Wallet's rights in terms of these terms and conditions, it does not mean that Quantum Wallet has abandoned or waived any of those rights.
